Hérault

Accessible by both the motorway and the TGV, the Hérault is the department of the region which has the widest range of sites, and the most varied, with notably 5 Congress halls of different sizes, and two new and magnificent auditoriums in the centre of Montpellier. One is to be found at the Musée Fabre and the other occupies a floor of the Hotel Mercure, also in the city centre.

Capital of the region, Montpellier figures among the top of the list of French cities in its capacity to receive international congresses, covering more than 500 types of meetings in its three infrastructures: the Corum, the Exhibition centre, and the Zenith concert hall.
The hotel industry’s ability to accommodate these visitors is growing all the time. A number of new tourist residences have been opened in the last few years: My Suite Inn and Hotelience in Montpellier, and Victoria Garden at Clapiers, for example, while the Golf Hotel de Fontcaude at Juvignac has added another 40 suites. These brand new lodgings, all in the three-star category, are perfectly adapted to business tourism, with their rooms suitable for hosting meetings.

This tendency has, to a lesser degree, favoured top quality 4 star hotels such as the Disini, recently opened at Castries. Business tourism has developed well at Béziers as well. Different options are on offer in its three complexes: the Congress hall, the halls of the Mediterranean Stadium and the new, multi-purpose Zinga Zanga.

As regards the bathing resorts of the Grande-Motte, Palavas-les-Flots and Cap d’Agde, they bask in their image of host cities where professional stays have a holiday air. Their Congress halls are well-suited for relaxed meetings and for professional reunions where stands need to be set up. In these seaside resorts, the hotels play an important role in the “reception of seminars”. Open all year round, they continue to improve the services on offer, and to face the challenge of keeping tourism active throughout the off-season period.
